Jamie Rennie (@JMZDZYN)is a local Street Artist who has been using the medium of art to inspire Young People for many years. We asked him to put on a series of workshops here which would engage Young People of all abilities in street art and he delivered several amazing sessions with 25 Young People – resulting in some brilliant art!
the concept: Having uncovered some of the most interesting characters and places that have formed the history and heritage of Wythenshawe, the Project Team wanted other Young People to learn about them by painting them using street art techniques! This involved use of spray paints and pens. Once they had done that through the workshops which Jamie ran, we captured images of every piece of art – around 80 of them! Those images were then edited and sent to the design team. Many of the designs are now included in the mural in Forum Library and in the project book. We think they are amazing!
