The Project Management Team of Young People met weekly at the WOW Zone Learning Centre to research the heritage, plan and document the workshops and generate the digital content.

The Team quickly established the name for the project: “Wonders of Wythenshawe” (WOW!) and helped to design the logo.

Then, working together over the next 8 months, we developed our skills in:

Research: Recording and documenting our history and heritage by using the internet, searching the archives at the local Forum Library and interviewing historians;

Using Design and Technology: Together, we helped to build the WOW app and website; we worked with the designers to bring the project alive through Augmented Reality technology; we designed and installed an interactive timeline in the Forum Library, at the Civic Centre, which lies at the heart of our community.

Film Production: We created a film which documents the project as well as capturing the heritage through interviews with local historians and enthusiasts.

Event Planning: The team was responsible for the planning and marketing of Workshops which enable a wide cohort of Young People to engage in the project.

We also ate copious amounts of pizza during our meetings!!

Finally the team worked together to plan the Community Event on September 5th which showcased and exhibited over 30 pieces of incredible art work which other Young People had created throughout the project, as well as launching the mural and the project app.
